I loved learning today that the word translated “love” in 18:1 ~usually~ refers to God’s deep and merciful love for His creation — but in this case is one of only a handful of verses where it shows us loving God that way.

This is a verse that always “gets me in my feelings,” as the kids used to say. I think it has something to do with the beautiful music it inspired, the song “Here I Am, Lord,” which I remember my church choir singing when I was in elementary school. It really resonated with me. (You might enjoy listening to it on YouTube.)
